Next up is the awesome DEATH NOTE contest!

Pairing, the wonderful Matt and Mello!

Rules:

*Main pairing has to be Matt and Mello. However, former mentions of other pairings are allowed. Example: Mello/Near. Implied or side-relationships are also acceptable as long as the main focus stays on (or is worked into) Matt and Mello's relationship. Example: Mello sells himself on the street and Matt tries to get him to stop. Seme/Uke can be either way if you chose to write Yaoi. However, you can simply write a friendship fic if you are uncomfortable writing boy x boy. Crack is also accepted! In fact, it’s encouraged!

*It can be a one-shot or multiple chapters; but the story must be complete when you submit it.

*Anything goes for content. Rating: K-R is acceptable. However, I ask that you post a warning for mature content.

*All genres’ are accepted. AU, AR and AT are all welcome. OOC’ness is accepted as well. 

*Theme: themes are open as of the moment. Since I’ll be ending this contest in the summer, I’ll make the bonus theme “what Matt and Mello do during the summer.” You do not have to write this theme, but those that do will automatically earn 10 point towards their score. Please state at the beginning of the fic if you are using a “summer” theme.

*If you plan to participate, please leave a comment and if you’d like to submit something, then please leave the link so that I can post it here. Make sure to tell other people about the contest as well.

*Deadline: July 25^th…it seems random enough!

*You can enter as many fic's as you like to increase your chances of winning. However, you can NOT win multiple prizes, or places (referring to first, second, and third place) even if your scores are high enough to place you multiple times in the top three. Basically it's, one prize/place per a person, per a contest—no exceptions. (That way one person can not win all three prizes) However, you can increase the chance of winning one spot in the top three by entering as many fic’s as you like.

*Please do not submit old work. If you are 'mid-process' in regards to writing a chapter fic, I will accept it as long as you're still working on it.

Rules:

If you volunteer to be a judge you will be required to read all entries. NO EXCEPTIONS!!! (unless you are both submitting and judging. In such a case, you will not judge your own fic.)

Depending on the number of entries you will be given 1 to 2 weeks to read all fic’s (if there's a ton, then I'll give you more time). Afterwards, you will e-mail me all the scores. 

I will give more details once the contest closes.

*You will receive your button after the contest/voting is over. Also, button requests come on a first come, first serve basis. "Judging guidelines" are based on the following point system. There are 100 regular points and up to 30 bonus points.


Style: (0-40)

*Was the author's style/writing fluid? (Things to watch out for: was the style jerky, mechanical, ect.)

*Were the details consistent?

*Did the story flow smoothly/was it well-paced?

*Did the story end prematurely? (Note: cliffhangers are accepted and should not be docked points if that's what the author intended. Things to watch out for: did the author seem to just stop writing? Did the ending not fit with the rest of the story?)


Grammar: (0-25)

*Were there any inappropriate or confusing changes to the point of view? (Example: person to person, first, second or third person point of view. Please note that POV changes are allowed, but the transition should be orchestrated properly. No sudden changes without notification.)

*Were there any inappropriate or confusing changes in tense? (past/present)

*Were all the words used correctly? (As a judge if you do not know the meaning of a word, then please look it up to make sure that it's used correctly.)

*Was everything spelt correctly?

*Was the correct punctuation used?


Creativity: (0-20)
 
*Was the story unique?

*Did the story create a mood/draw you in?


Rules/Guidelines: (0-15)

*Was the main pairing Matt/Mello (Either Yaoi or friendship)

*Is the status of the story complete?

*If there was mature content, was there a warning?

Theme bonus: (0-10)

*For this contest there is a theme bonus. If the writer used (and stated that he/she was using) a summer theme, you will automatically award 10 bonus points. If this is not applicable, ignore.

Judges Bonus: (0-20)

*If the story moved you deeply or if you felt that the fic was presented in an extremely well manner (example: you can't stop thinking about it, you were crying, laughing, etc.) then up to twenty bonus points can be given.

This time, I will be offering some Translated Doujinshi, so if you can’t read Japanese, they’ll be a few English ones to choose from. ^^
